Introduction

...And a perspective from three points of which, I believe, we all share some peace; I am, of wisdom through some research, often portraiting symbolicly themes presented in the extension of an olive branch, a torch aflame, and an oak branch with leaves attached. In sumary to this introduction, see also some ""InVisual Protrait"" possibly of the day, thoughts with elements exstream; expressing this, painting view of somethings important, or just new to me, an expert of nothing. Just a view. ... InVisual Portrait post

33 or 1 3rd

42 And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward.

10, 42; set; hut hut-hut---hut! The cadence; caesura sounds a like a foot ball game, huh!
The title, almost a Beatles sound!

Having parted the indulging of word meaning, and moving on through the differentials of the modern sciences that can and can not explain the healing and healing nots; to say the least what one may expect in their belief; why draw in Salvation for conversation whem life has so many more things to offer?
Besides God may be speaking anyway, so why talk until we listen first?

So heres the Gideons for tomorrow, Today, and Yesterday, if there is still enough time:

Genesis 31 Back to Top
1
And he heard the words of Laban's sons, saying, Jacob hath taken away all that was our father's; and of that which was our father's hath he gotten all this glory.
2
And Jacob beheld the countenance of Laban, and, behold, it was not toward him as before.
3
And the LORD said unto Jacob, Return unto the land of thy fathers, and to thy kindred; and I will be with thee.
4
And Jacob sent and called Rachel and Leah to the field unto his flock,
5
And said unto them, I see your father's countenance, that it is not toward me as before; but the God of my father hath been with me.
6
And ye know that with all my power I have served your father.
7
And your father hath deceived me, and changed my wages ten times; but God suffered him not to hurt me.
8
If he said thus, The speckled shall be thy wages; then all the cattle bare speckled: and if he said thus, The ring-streaked shall be thy hire; then bare all the cattle ring-streaked.
9
Thus God hath taken away the cattle of your father, and given them to me.
10
And it came to pass at the time that the cattle conceived, that I lifted up mine eyes, and saw in a dream, and, behold, the rams which leaped upon the cattle were ring-streaked, speckled, and grizzled.
11
And the angel of God spake unto me in a dream, saying, Jacob: And I said, Here am I.
12
And he said, Lift up now thine eyes, and see, all the rams which leap upon the cattle are ring-streaked, speckled, and grizzled: for I have seen all that Laban doeth unto thee.
13
I am the God of Bethel, where thou anointedst the pillar, and where thou vowedst a vow unto me: now arise, get thee out from this land, and return unto the land of thy kindred.
14
And Rachel and Leah answered and said unto him, Is there yet any portion or inheritance for us in our father's house?
15
Are we not counted of him strangers? for he hath sold us, and hath quite devoured also our money.
16
For all the riches which God hath taken from our father, that is ours, and our children's: now then, whatsoever God hath said unto thee, do.
17
Then Jacob rose up, and set his sons and his wives upon camels;
18
And he carried away all his cattle, and all his goods which he had gotten, the cattle of his getting, which he had gotten in Padanaram, for to go to Isaac his father in the land of Canaan.
19
And Laban went to shear his sheep: and Rachel had stolen the images that were her father's.
20
And Jacob stole away unawares to Laban the Syrian, in that he told him not that he fled.
21
So he fled with all that he had; and he rose up, and passed over the river, and set his face toward the mount Gilead.
22
And it was told Laban on the third day that Jacob was fled.
23
And he took his brethren with him, and pursued after him seven days' journey; and they overtook him in the mount Gilead.
24
And God came to Laban the Syrian in a dream by night, and said unto him, Take heed that thou speak not to Jacob either good or bad.
25
Then Laban overtook Jacob. Now Jacob had pitched his tent in the mount: and Laban with his brethren pitched in the mount of Gilead.
26
And Laban said to Jacob, What hast thou done, that thou hast stolen away unawares to me, and carried away my daughters, as captives taken with the sword?
27
Wherefore didst thou flee away secretly, and steal away from me; and didst not tell me, that I might have sent thee away with mirth, and with songs, with tabret, and with harp?
28
And hast not suffered me to kiss my sons and my daughters? thou hast now done foolishly in so doing.
29
It is in the power of my hand to do you hurt: but the God of your father spake unto me yesternight, saying, Take thou heed that thou speak not to Jacob either good or bad.
30
And now, though thou wouldest needs be gone, because thou sore longedst after thy father's house, yet wherefore hast thou stolen my gods?
31
And Jacob answered and said to Laban, Because I was afraid: for I said, Peradventure thou wouldest take by force thy daughters from me.
32
With whomsoever thou findest thy gods, let him not live: before our brethren discern thou what is thine with me, and take it to thee. For Jacob knew not that Rachel had stolen them.
33
And Laban went into Jacob's tent, and into Leah's tent, and into the two maidservants' tents; but he found them not. Then went he out of Leah's tent, and entered into Rachel's tent.
34
Now Rachel had taken the images, and put them in the camel's furniture, and sat upon them. And Laban searched all the tent, but found them not.
35
And she said to her father, Let it not displease my lord that I cannot rise up before thee; for the custom of women is upon me. And he searched but found not the images.
36
And Jacob was wroth, and chode with Laban: and Jacob answered and said to Laban, What is my trespass? what is my sin, that thou hast so hotly pursued after me?
37
Whereas thou hast searched all my stuff, what hast thou found of all thy household stuff? set it here before my brethren and thy brethren, that they may judge betwixt us both.
38
This twenty years have I been with thee; thy ewes and thy she goats have not cast their young, and the rams of thy flock have I not eaten.
39
That which was torn of beasts I brought not unto thee; I bare the loss of it; of my hand didst thou require it, whether stolen by day, or stolen by night.
40
Thus I was; in the day the drought consumed me, and the frost by night; and my sleep departed from mine eyes.
41
Thus have I been twenty years in thy house; I served thee fourteen years for thy two daughters, and six years for thy cattle: and thou hast changed my wages ten times.
42
Except the God of my father, the God of Abraham, and the fear of Isaac, had been with me, surely thou hadst sent me away now empty. God hath seen mine affliction and the labor of my hands, and rebuked thee yesternight.
43
And Laban answered and said unto Jacob, These daughters are my daughters, and these children are my children, and these cattle are my cattle, and all that thou seest is mine: and what can I do this day unto these my daughters, or unto their children which they have born?
44
Now therefore come thou, let us make a covenant, I and thou; and let it be for a witness between me and thee.
45
And Jacob took a stone, and set it up for a pillar.
46
And Jacob said unto his brethren, Gather stones; and they took stones, and made an heap: and they did eat there upon the heap.
47
And Laban called it Jegarsahadutha: but Jacob called it Galeed.
48
And Laban said, This heap is a witness between me and thee this day. Therefore was the name of it called Galeed;
49
And Mizpah; for he said, The LORD watch between me and thee, when we are absent one from another.
50
If thou shalt afflict my daughters, or if thou shalt take other wives beside my daughters, no man is with us; see, God is witness betwixt me and thee.
51
And Laban said to Jacob, Behold this heap, and behold this pillar, which I have cast betwixt me and thee:
52
This heap be witness, and this pillar be witness, that I will not pass over this heap to thee, and that thou shalt not pass over this heap and this pillar unto me, for harm.
53
The God of Abraham, and the God of Nahor, the God of their father, judge betwixt us. And Jacob sware by the fear of his father Isaac.
54
Then Jacob offered sacrifice upon the mount, and called his brethren to eat bread: and they did eat bread, and tarried all night in the mount.
55
And early in the morning Laban rose up, and kissed his sons and his daughters, and blessed them: and Laban departed, and returned unto his place.
Genesis 32 Back to Top
1
And Jacob went on his way, and the angels of God met him.
2
And when Jacob saw them, he said, This is God's host: and he called the name of that place Mahanaim.
3
And Jacob sent messengers before him to Esau his brother unto the land of Seir, the country of Edom.
4
And he commanded them, saying, Thus shall ye speak unto my lord Esau; Thy servant Jacob saith thus, I have sojourned with Laban, and stayed there until now:
5
And I have oxen, and asses, flocks, and menservants, and womenservants: and I have sent to tell my lord, that I may find grace in thy sight.
6
And the messengers returned to Jacob, saying, We came to thy brother Esau, and also he cometh to meet thee, and four hundred men with him.
7
Then Jacob was greatly afraid and distressed: and he divided the people that was with him, and the flocks, and herds, and the camels, into two bands;
8
And said, If Esau come to the one company, and smite it, then the other company which is left shall escape.
9
And Jacob said, O God of my father Abraham, and God of my father Isaac, the LORD which saidst unto me, Return unto thy country, and to thy kindred, and I will deal well with thee:
10
I am not worthy of the least of all the mercies, and of all the truth, which thou hast showed unto thy servant; for with my staff I passed over this Jordan; and now I am become two bands.
11
Deliver me, I pray thee, from the hand of my brother, from the hand of Esau: for I fear him, lest he will come and smite me, and the mother with the children.
12
And thou saidst, I will surely do thee good, and make thy seed as the sand of the sea, which cannot be numbered for multitude.
13
And he lodged there that same night; and took of that which came to his hand a present for Esau his brother;
14
Two hundred she goats, and twenty he goats, two hundred ewes, and twenty rams,
15
Thirty milch camels with their colts, forty kine, and ten bulls, twenty she asses, and ten foals.
16
And he delivered them into the hand of his servants, every drove by themselves; and said unto his servants, Pass over before me, and put a space betwixt drove and drove.
17
And he commanded the foremost, saying, When Esau my brother meeteth thee, and asketh thee, saying, Whose art thou? and whither goest thou? and whose are these before thee?
18
Then thou shalt say, They be thy servant Jacob's; it is a present sent unto my lord Esau: and, behold, also he is behind us.
19
And so commanded he the second, and the third, and all that followed the droves, saying, On this manner shall ye speak unto Esau, when ye find him.
20
And say ye moreover, Behold, thy servant Jacob is behind us. For he said, I will appease him with the present that goeth before me, and afterward I will see his face; peradventure he will accept of me.
21
So went the present over before him: and himself lodged that night in the company.
22
And he rose up that night, and took his two wives, and his two womenservants, and his eleven sons, and passed over the ford Jabbok.
23
And he took them, and sent them over the brook, and sent over that he had.
24
And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man with him until the breaking of the day.
25
And when he saw that he prevailed not against him, he touched the hollow of his thigh; and the hollow of Jacob's thigh was out of joint, as he wrestled with him.
26
And he said, Let me go, for the day breaketh. And he said, I will not let thee go, except thou bless me.
27
And he said unto him, What is thy name? And he said, Jacob.
28
And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed.
29
And Jacob asked him, and said, Tell me, I pray thee, thy name. And he said, Wherefore is it that thou dost ask after my name? And he blessed him there.
30
And Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: for I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved.
31
And as he passed over Penuel the sun rose upon him, and he halted upon his thigh.
32
Therefore the children of Israel eat not of the sinew which shrank, which is upon the hollow of the thigh, unto this day: because he touched the hollow of Jacob's thigh in the sinew that shrank.
Matthew 10:24-42 Back to Top
24
The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above his lord.
25
It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master, and the servant as his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more shall they call them of his household?
26
Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known.
27
What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops.
28
And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
29
Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father.
30
But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.
31
Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.
32
Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.
33
But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.
34
Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
35
For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
36
And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.
37
He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.
38
And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.
39
He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.
40
He that receiveth you receiveth me, and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.
41
He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet's reward; and he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man's reward.
42
And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward.

HEALING AND SALVATION (A PART 2 OF 3)

"A Second 3rd" was almost the title.
In this post, as a part 2, it doesn't clearly address a part 1.

Equating "what is not" and what it is; this may take a moment, and this may be too heavy to even note what is...
In that..."
what it is;
this may take a moment, and this may be too heavy to even note what is...
Why?
Edit in content of "what is not" AND THEN... simply because of the human conditioning factors that are set to timing and choice when components of relationship...relate
So I add a story, here for a point to a proof, today from the BennyHinn.org, healing ministry; and to let this soothe...

  1. Healing

Purposes for Divine Healing
The late English Bible teacher Smith Wigglesworth used to tell this story: Two women on the train with him—a mother and daughter—were very sick, so Wigglesworth said to them, “Look, I've something in the bag that will cure every case in the world. It has never been known to fail.”
The mother and daughter were quite interested, so the minister went on to tell them about his “remedy.” When they finally asked for a dose, he opened the bag, took out his Bible, and read them the verse that says, “I am the Lord that healeth thee” (Exodus 15:26).
What a wonderful way to share how the Bible is filled with promises and accounts regarding health and healing for His children!

... so then, a bolder statement I make in this address, yet I have also linked the search seeking more of God's word and insight, and to strengthen the Love Of God and God's love for us each, in that I have also left the links to the article where I believe that the message may have error and a great mass of people decieved; but I tell you of coincidence, stranger and more on the surface is the deceite of our modern day and times, is it to me that earlier today of some of the purposes in searches, I came accross this very same article on the maranathamedia.com story knowing in reasoning this truth that it would not go against the foundations of our faiths, but that of the story usage contexts and the general belief, both may also be need more persuasion to be understood in purity.
What is not ... "a coincidence" is of the scripture; and that by my keyword search of words in a Benny Hinn message :
{{ God’s Word declares, “Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world” (James 1:27). And Jesus Himself promises, “And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me” (Matthew 25:40).}}
"What is not" The Trinity is not presented to be so by the
maranathamedia.com article, or story; a usage of scripture seems to serve as the antithesis to the inclined thoughts, therefore supporting "The Trinity" affect, further creating a weakening in "a concrete believe as only" as this story presents that the Bible claims it is so of the Satan deception; in clarity therfore again, I say that of both while the story as presented uses scripture to prove a point, the understanding of it persuaids the proof of the Trinity, and that is not a matter of interpretation: what it is; this may take a moment, and this may be too heavy to even note what is...

So as a Second Part 2?, no, its to different.

2.There is A Balm in Gileada4_99999518By Smith Wigglesworth
God is pleased when we stand on the Rock and believe that He is unchangeable. If you will dare to believe God, you can defy all the powers of evil. There have been times in my experience when I have dared to believe Him and have had the most remarkable experiences.

One day I was traveling in a railway coach, and there were two people in the coach who were very sick, a mother and her daughter. I said to them, “Look, I’ve something in the bag that will cure every case in the world. It has never been known to fail.”

They became very much interested, and I went on to tell them more and more about this remedy that had never failed to remove disease and sickness. At last they summoned up the courage to ask for a dose. So I opened my bag, took out my Bible and read them the verse that says, “I am the Lord who heals you” (Exod. 15:26).

3. Healing: A Heavenly Grace

heavenly graceBy Andrew Murray
When the psalmist called upon all that was within him to bless the Lord, he cried, "Bless the Lord,... who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases" (Ps. 103:2-3). When Isaiah foretold the deliverance of his people, he added, "The inhabitant shall not say, I am sick; the people that dwell therein shall be forgiven their iniquity" (Isa. 33:24).

This prediction was accomplished beyond all anticipation when Jesus the Redeemer came down to this earth. How numerous were the healings brought about by Him who had come to establish on earth the kingdom of heaven!
By His own acts and afterward by the commands that He left for His disciples, He showed us clearly that the preaching of the Gospel and the healing of the sick went together in the salvation that He came to bring. read more

About Benny Hinn School of Ministry

A Brief History

Since early 2005 when Pastor Benny Hinn was led to start classes for the Benny Hinn School of Ministry in the Southern California area, the response to courses such as “Angels,” “Divine Healing,” “Operating in the Anointing,” “Deliverance from Demons,” and “God's Agenda for the Ages” has been truly amazing. The anointing on these Bible classes, the filled classrooms, and changed lives are a testament to what God is doing through these powerful sessions.

Pastor Benny says, "Few things in life thrill me as much as believers who are earnestly seeking to “study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15).

Today, in addition to enrolling in our on-campus studies program in Aliso Viejo, people can also attend classes by accessing our online programs (on-demand classes available 24 hours a day, and you can complete up to one class per week, with plenty of time for study and review before going to the next session)! These online studies allow students to attend, regardless of location, time constraints, or educational level.

Discover for yourself what thousands have already learned from these challenging courses! You will be blessed and strengthened for service as you study God’s Word with Pastor Benny Hinn!

Foundations and Greater Works

We serve a mighty God: “How great are his signs! and how mighty are his wonders! his kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and his dominion is from generation to generation” (Daniel 4:3).

We know He desires to work through us, for in Daniel 6:27 we read, “He delivereth and rescueth, and he worketh signs and wonders in heaven and in earth.”

Our wonderful Lord tells us, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father” (John 14:12).

To be part of these “greater works,” we must be grounded through a diligent study of God’s Word: “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord” (1 Corinthians 15:58).

According to 2 Timothy 3:16-17, the living Word of God must be our foundation for all we do for Him: “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.”

What a wonderful calling we have to learn of His miracle-working power and His calling upon our lives, and to be used powerfully to fulfill His calling on our lives: “God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will?” (Hebrews 2:4).

The Benny Hinn School of Ministry...and You!

The apostle Paul, writing under the anointing of the Holy Spirit, tells us: “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15).

Now, more than ever, is the time to “grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ” (2 Peter 3:18). As you consider enrolling in either on-campus studies or online classes, we know you will be blessed and strengthened for service as you study God’s Word with Pastor Benny Hinn.

As a student of His Word through the Benny Hinn School of Ministry, you can learn to be part of God’s great end-times army: “He delivereth and rescueth, and he worketh signs and wonders in heaven and in earth” (Daniel 6:27).

You can discover your own “greater works” calling. May God bless you as you get started today!

  3. 3) Matthew 37-41(I ADD THIS FOR ADDITIONAL CONTEXTS, CONTINUING VERSES:): 37“Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’ 40“The King will reply, ‘I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.’ 41“Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.

Job 38
New American Standard Bible
God Speaks Now to Job
1Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind and said,
2“Who is this that darkens counsel By words without knowledge?
3“Now gird up your loins like a man, And I will ask you, and you instruct Me!
4“Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth? Tell Me, if you have understanding,
5Who set its measurements? Since you know. Or who stretched the line on it?
6“On what were its bases sunk? Or who laid its cornerstone,
7When the morning stars sang together And all the sons of God shouted for joy?
8“Or who enclosed the sea with doors When, bursting forth, it went out from the womb;
9When I made a cloud its garment And thick darkness its swaddling band,
10And I placed boundaries on it And set a bolt and doors,
11And I said, ‘Thus far you shall come, but no farther; And here shall your proud waves stop’?
God’s Mighty Power
12“Have you ever in your life commanded the morning, And caused the dawn to know its place,
13That it might take hold of the ends of the earth, And the wicked be shaken out of it?
14“It is changed like clay under the seal; And they stand forth like a garment.
15“From the wicked their light is withheld, And the uplifted arm is broken.
16“Have you entered into the springs of the sea Or walked in the recesses of the deep?
17“Have the gates of death been revealed to you, Or have you seen the gates of deep darkness?
18“Have you understood the expanse of the earth? Tell Me, if you know all this.
19“Where is the way to the dwelling of light? And darkness, where is its place,
20That you may take it to its territory And that you may discern the paths to its home?
21“You know, for you were born then, And the number of your days is great!
22“Have you entered the storehouses of the snow, Or have you seen the storehouses of the hail,
23Which I have reserved for the time of distress, For the day of war and battle?
24“Where is the way that the light is divided, Or the east wind scattered on the earth?
25“Who has cleft a channel for the flood, Or a way for the thunderbolt,
26To bring rain on a land without people, On a desert without a man in it,
27To satisfy the waste and desolate land And to make the seeds of grass to sprout?
28“Has the rain a father? Or who has begotten the drops of dew?
29“From whose womb has come the ice? And the frost of heaven, who has given it birth?
30“Water becomes hard like stone, And the surface of the deep is imprisoned.
31“Can you bind the chains of the Pleiades, Or loose the cords of Orion?
32“Can you lead forth a constellation in its season, And guide the Bear with her satellites?
33“Do you know the ordinances of the heavens, Or fix their rule over the earth?
34“Can you lift up your voice to the clouds, So that an abundance of water will cover you?
35“Can you send forth lightnings that they may go And say to you, ‘Here we are’?
36“Who has put wisdom in the innermost being Or given understanding to the mind?
37“Who can count the clouds by wisdom, Or tip the water jars of the heavens,
38When the dust hardens into a mass And the clods stick together?
39“Can you hunt the prey for the lion, Or satisfy the appetite of the young lions,
40When they crouch in their dens And lie in wait in their lair?
41“Who prepares for the raven its nourishment When its young cry to God And wander about without food?

Library August 11 Evening Where is the way that light dwelleth?--JOB 38:19. God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.--As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world. If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: but if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.--The Father . . . hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light, Anonymous—Daily Light on the Daily Path

Jewels, in themselves, are valueless, unless they are brought in contact with light. If they are put in certain positions they will reflect the beauty of the sun. There is no beauty in them otherwise. The diamond that is back in its dark gallery or down in the deep mine, displays no beauty whatever. What is it but a piece of charcoal, a bit of common carbon, unless it becomes a medium for reflecting light? And so it is also with the other Rev. A. B. Simpson—Days of Heaven Upon Earth

God's Restraining Power. (New Year's Day.) TEXT: JOB xxxviii. 11. "Hitherto shalt thou come, and no further: and here shall thy proud waves be stayed." THESE words are taken from a sublime discourse, which -- is put by the writer in the mouth of the Highest Himself, the Creator and Preserver of the world. In it He answers Job out of the whirlwind, when he had complained, though reverently and humbly, that the Lord did not allow men to find Him; that, moreover, He gave no account of His matters to them, and that therefore Friedrich Schleiermacher—Selected Sermons of Schleiermacher
The SabbathBecause He had rested upon the Sabbath, "God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it,"--set it apart to a holy use. He gave it to Adam as a day of rest. It was a memorial of the work of creation, and thus a sign of God's power and His love. The Scripture says, "He hath made His wonderful works to be remembered." "The things that are made," declare "the invisible things of Him since the creation of the world," "even His everlasting power and divinity." Gen. 2:3; Ps. 111:4; Rom. 1:20, R. V.
